#CountryKids Fun at Fell Foot Park

Country Kids from Coombe Mill Family Farm Holidays Cornwall

Today I just had my son to entertain as big sister was having her turn at High Borrans. So it was time to make even more use of our National Trust membership and head down to Fell Foot park. Our car sticker allowed us free parking so its an inexpensive trip.

First stop is always the adventure playground. We were there so early we had it to ourselves for a while! Plenty of fun to be had:

Then we headed down to the lake shore as my son wanted to go into the water:

There were plenty of water birds around enjoying the water:

Before our holiday we had acquired Home Bargains wet suits for the children and a dip in Windermere is really much better wearing one! Although my son was pretty cautious about getting too far in:

He made a sharp exit when a family of swans came looking for some lunch:

Once they had gone away he gradually got braver and deeper:

And eventually plucked up the courage to swim:

He was dead proud of himself:

When he came out he was cold so once he was dressed we headed to the cafe for a warming hot chocolate:

Afterwards we played hide and seek around the playground:

And explored the furthest edge of the park. You can really see how high the lake is at the moment:

My son had plenty of energy for lots more running around:

Though I was being bugged by all the wasps including this massive beastie I've been told is a giant wood wasp:

So I took my son back to the cafe for ice creams. Here he is waiting patiently for his:

Unfortunately I ended up partly eating a wasp with mine and had a sting next to my teeth! A member of staff gave me vinegar to ease it and luckily it wasn't too agonising or swollen. Apart from that it was a super fun day.

What a fabulous day out - apart from eating a wasp - argh, I'd have been such a baby if I'd done that. What gorgeous pictures, I love the one of him looking very proud after his swimming. I bet he was exhausted x
