#CountryKids at Center Parcs Sherwood
I have to say that Center Parcs is a fab place for Country Kids. I just wish we could afford to go every year and not once every 6 years! This is a taste of what we got up to this week in Sherwood Forest:
We enjoyed the beautiful forest surroundings:
We played snooker and table tennis indoors:
We refined our 10 pin bowling techniques:

Reasons to be Cheerful - the Colourful One #R2BC
As Jo at Ojo's World said I have actually been away for a few days hurrah! Now back and raring to go and full of cheer. Great to see so many folks joining in already this week. Here are my colourful reasons to be cheerful:
1) House Move:
I am coming to terms with the fact we now can't move in for at least another month due to required repairs but we have made lots of progress including moving in the fridge/freezer and washing machine:
My daughter has been painting her room a lovely shade of blue:
2) Kendal Colour Run
We all did the Kendal Colour Run in aid of a local hospice and children's hospice. Lots of fun and hoping to raise even more money (hint, hint!):
3) Family Holiday
We have just come back from an amazing 3 generation break at Center Parcs in Sherwood Forest to celebrate my mum's birthday. There will be a full post appearing soon but here is a taster:
Why are you smiling this week?

Reasons to be Cheerful: Decorating and Running #R2BC
The lovely Jo at Ojo's World came to the rescue when I couldn't get the linky up in time today! Thank you angel xxx. Here are my reasons to be cheerful this week:
1) Busy Cub
My son came home from cubs this week with a backlog of badges as Akela had been stocking up. See if you can work out what they all are:
2) Running
I got out for a decent run for the first time since April 26th today! Having signed up for a virtual race that needed to be done this month I had to get out there... I was so happy to be running that I shot off pretty quick but then eased off after a couple of kilometres as my stamina wasn't too good. A reasonable 5 k time of 34 minutes which was only 3 minutes off my PB. Hopefully I can get out during the holiday next week.. This is how pleased I was to finish:
3) House move
Both my parents have been working really hard on trying to get the new house ready for us to move into. This weekend the children both did their bit by helping to paint the kitchen:
Some boxes of kitchen bits have already moved in to their new cupboards and drawers which makes it all feel real! More stuff has been packed up at home too even though its a slow and steady job.
What is making you happy this week?

Reasons to be Cheerful: Its all coming together
I have been a bit AWOL recently with teacher training and preparing to move house - I never do anything by halves! It isn't because I had nothing to be cheerful about just not enough time to blog about it. Thanks to the lovely Jo at Ojo's World for holding the fort. I will do my best to keep hosting in May..
Here are my recent reasons to be cheerful:
1) House move
My dad has been working hard to get the new house ready for moving. He has been removing paper and painting woodwork as well as fixing the kitchen floor. Still plenty to do and its giving me time to pack up all our worldly possessions:
2) Outdoor Fun
I had an amazing school trip to Coniston Water Park this week. As well as canoeing I even got hauled up into a tree by the children:
3) VE Day
My children celebrated VE Day at school by wearing vintage style clothing and having a street party. This was my daughter's outfit:

Competition: Tickets to see The Vamps at Forest Live 2015
I was really excited to hear about this year's Forest Live concerts and I was gutted to realise that we live too far away from any of them to go... The range of acts appearing this year is amazing and I'm not surprised that some are already sold out:
- McBusted
- Spandau Ballet
Sam Smith- The Vamps
- Robert Plant
JamesPaloma Faith- Tom Odell
Paul Heaton & Jacqui AbbottThe Script
I have enjoyed music in beautiful locations before but these concerts sound and look amazing:
Now I may not be able to attend one but the lovely folks at the Forestry Commission have asked me to give away a pair of tickets to see The Vamps plus
guests at one of these concerts:
Sunday
21 June - Westonbirt Arboretum, near Tetbury, Glos
Saturday
27 June - Sherwood Pines, Edwinstowe, near Mansfield, Notts
The
Vamps formed when the band members found one another via their respective
YouTube channels. Subsequently they amassed a serious online following through
social media with the upload of a series of punkish, acoustic-driven covers of
chart-conquering pop hits. They’ve now had 230 million
total YouTube and Vevo views as well as sold out arena tours. Last year their meteoric rise to
fame was confirmed with sold out tour dates and the release of their debut
album ‘Meet The Vamps’, a collection of pop-party anthems such as: ‘Can We
Dance’, ‘Last Night’, ‘Wild Heart’, ‘Oh Cecilia (Breaking My Heart)’ and
‘Somebody To You’. The Vamps are: Brad Simpson (lead vocals and guitar), James
McVey (lead guitar and vocals), Connor Ball (bass guitar and vocals) and
Tristan Evans (drums and vocals).
Opening band Hometown is the latest act managed by pop mogul Louis Walsh. The Second support is LA-based band, The Tide, newly signed to The Vamps EMI Universal label and predicted to be the next big US indie-pop band. Completing the line-up as very special guests will be pop sensations Union J who have already headlined their own arena shows.
If you would like to be one of the people enjoying this amazing line up then you will need to enter via the Gleam giveaway:
You can also buy tickets for £32.50 (plus £3.25 booking fee) from Forestry Commission Box Office tel 03000 680400 or buy online: forestry.gov.uk/music
Best of luck!
