Workout Wednesday - Hitting my stride

I thought that Sunday's little effort with my son was going to be the only run this week with it being half term. It as never going to break any records:

Today my dad had offered to have the children for an hour then promptly went out leaving my mum to have them! It seemed like freedom gave me wings as I was very surprised that my Garmin kept telling me I was going under 6 minutes per kilometre to start with. Needless to say I couldn't keep this up but it was my fastest run for a long time:

Strava had a wobbly over a run I recorded via iPhone a while back so this was actually my fastest mile and 2nd fastest kilometre! I just have to hope that I can replicate these times and improve on them next week.

  1. We're enjoying the more laid back half-term too, despite the weather having other ideas.
Great to see you and your Son enjoying running together. I can't wait until my two are older...maybe one or both of them would like to join me too :) It would be a bit of a family event come race day though, as both my Mum & little Brother run and my Sister-in-Law & Mother-in-Law have just started!! :D

  8. Dens are so much fun. The camouflage sheet looks perfect. Even better for being easy to put up. My children raid my bean pole store to make dens whenever they can. Here's to more good den-making weather, this summer!

  10. I must get some lightweight tarpaulins for just this! My kiddies love tent building and this would occupy them for a day in the garden. Nice looking meatballs :)

I love owls - we hear them around here at night and the boys got to hold them on a recent trip back to the UK.

That's a nice camouflage sheet and ideal for a quick den building solution! Our children find half the fun of making a den is scavenging (taking my supplies) around to make them. Here's to more sunshine and time spent outdoors having fun. Thanks for linking up and sharing with Country Kids.
