So pleased to see even more lovely bloggers joining in last week! It makes me smile to read about all the the things that are making other people smile. There is definitely something contagious about happiness. Here are the things that made me cheerful this week:
1) Weekend away
We had a super time camping in Derbyshire at the weekend. There were so many smily moments like this:
I've already written about what we got up to on the Heights of Abraham and in Buxton. Camping for us is definitely a reason to smile even if the weather was horrendous!
2) Blue Skies
We briefly had some blue sky yesterday morning:
and today was almost wall to wall blue sky which enabled us to have a picnic tea in the park! Definitely smiles all round there.
3) Running
Today I achieved my longest ever workout of just over 11km including walking intervals with a total of 9km of running. Makes me feel that I am really getting back on form

ReplyDeleteGlad you had a great time in Derbyshire! I have lots of fond memories of camping holiday's as a kid..such fun :) Massive congrats on your run & yay for sunshine!! We've had some blue skies over our way too x
ReplyDeleteWell done on that run lady!! wowzer xx
ReplyDeleteGreat reasons to smile!! New follower! I hope you can stop by for a visit and maybe follow me too. I look forward to participating again!
ReplyDeleteIn awe of your running prowess - have a longer school run now we have moved and struggle to do it without breathlessness. Derbyshire is such a lovely place to visit and camping is fun. Trying to find an original way to say how I admire how you have family life so sorted. @kateonthinice
ReplyDeleteOh yes I can feel your cheerfulness about the blue skies!
ReplyDeleteIt looks so much fun. And added bonus with the pool :) I love Derbyshire - I only go there for work but drive past a few campsites!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a great weekend, despite the weather! Camping is really not my thing but the kids absolutely love it and I can see why. Such an adventure!
ReplyDeletex x
we couldn't miss Eurovision!
ReplyDeletenext time bring the family and a tent ;-)
ReplyDeleteit is fun honest :-)
ReplyDeleteWow looks like you had a great time. I definitely don't spend enough outdoors-y time with the kids, this is something we are hoping to rectify this year now that they are getting a big older. We would love to try camping one day - maybe next year now as the baby is still a bit young for it (I think.) Lovely photos on this post! x
ReplyDeletemy son had his first camp at 5 months old! glad you like the pics
ReplyDeleteI can see the appeal of going as a group. The time between children going to bed and your own bedtime, I find the hardest. End up sitting outside and reading by dodgey light. Much better to sit round a campfire with others. Hats off to you on your first solo camping trip. #CountryKids
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! I love camping but it's not terribly great for Fibromyalgia. Sounds like you all had fun - I hope you get to go in August, maybe the weather will be better!
ReplyDeleteDespite the weather it sounds like you had a great time and you all made some new friends! Being in a group gives an instant sense of security and a back up when and if you need it. Thanks for linking up and sharing your adventure with Country Kids.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a great weekend, and so much more fun to go in a group. We haven't been camping for a while, hoping to do some over the summer :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great weekend! much braver than me as I'm not a lover of camping! :)
ReplyDeleteMy dream! I want to do this this summer but we dont have the means. No tents no money to go out. Thanks for sharing your photos and experience. Thats the next best thing for me> seeing other peoples camp experience =) #countrykids
