Reasons to be Cheerful: Summer time #R2BC

R2BC at Mummy from the Heart

A slightly delayed reasons to be cheerful as with the heat I've been too shattered to blog after work and after school activities! I am writing this sitting in the garden whilst there is still some shade and letting the paddling pool warm up a bit for a dip later... Hopefully the warm weather is a reason for everyone to have something cheerful to share with us all this week.  Any how here are my reasons to be cheerful this week:

1) Last Primary Sports' Day

It was my son's last ever Primary Sports' Day so I made sure I was there having not been to one since he was in Year 2! I was right on the front row to watch him in action. He came away with one 2nd place for the team obstacle relay and his house was 2nd overall so it was a good result:

2) Sunrise over Coniston Water

We were on the shores of Coniston Water at 5:45 AM on Sunday and the reward was such a beautiful tail end of the sun rise:

3) Volunteering

We were there because we were volunteers at the Triathlon. First of all we did car parking and then my son gave out medals whilst I helped with tags and marshalled at the last gate:

Reasons to be Cheerful: Letter P (#R2BC)

Reasons to be Cheerful at Mummy from the Heart
After all of us guest hosts this summer Michelle is back from her break and has offered us up the letter P! So how can I fit my reasons to be cheerful into P:

1) Perfect Neighbours

I came back from church last Sunday to find that my lovely neighbour had mowed my front grass! Our lawns are only separated by a couple of low level shrubs so it is easy to just whizz across and do both. What a lovely surprise and I just hope I can get a chance to return the favour (if it ever stops raining!).

2) Pennies in my Pocket

This week I started doing a few extra hours at another local secondary school. This should make a big difference to my bank balance whilst I do this temporary work. No idea how long it will last but its great whilst it does.

3) Pounds off my Weight

All the effort seems much more worthwhile when the scales show a loss of 3.5 pounds! To help keep me on track I've started a Flab Fighters blog hop so we can all share our fitness journeys. It goes up on a Wednesday but stays open for a week.

4) Parcel of Pleasure

We received our first Toys R Us Toyologist parcel on Monday. I am not sure who was more excited myself or the children! We have a fun 4 weeks ahead to review what came in this parcel before we get the next one. I have reviewed some already on the Toys R Us Toybox and I will put a weekly review on here too.

Enough P's I think! Please go and visit the other blogs in the hop:

Reasons to be Cheerful XXXIX ( #R2BC )

Reasons to be Cheerful at Mummy from the Heart

Here are this week's reasons to smile!

1) Blue skies and cherry blossom

There is plenty of both around this week which is guaranteed to make me smile. Walking past views like this of Kendal Green is a definite morale booster:

2) Family walks

On Saturday I went to the woods at Brigsteer in search of bluebells which are just starting to come out. With 3 generations spotting wildlife and flowers as well as playing hide and seek it was a perfect afternoon for putting a smile on lots of our faces.

3) Neighbours

With the nice weather our cul-de-sac really comes to life after school and at weekends. The children play together (mostly nicely!) and the adults have time to chat. Last night I enjoyed coffee on my friend's front lawn with 3 other ladies whilst we watched our children playing knights and running around happily. This afternoon I found out more about my immediate neighbour as we stood and chatted for about 15 minutes after putting the recycling out!

4) Diet

It was great to have a 2.5 lb loss on the scales this week. I went into the week determined to do better and did. Really need to keep the focus up though (she says whilst sipping a glass of wine!)

I am sure there are loads of other things I could have put on here but going to stop now and say look at everyone else's #R2BC:
