Reasons to be Cheerful: Celebrations and Achievements #R2BC

R2BC at Mummy from the Heart

We are nearly half way through September all ready which is amazing - where is the time going? The linky is still in the hands of Michelle so please pop over there to join in... Meanwhile here are my reasons to be cheerful this week:

1) Spoiled Rotten

I got to spend much of my weekend at the Lindeth Fell Country House courtesy of my parents. It was wonderful to be well looked after and taken such good care of. My daughter and I shared a cosy room:

It was little touches like the sherry decanters in the rooms which made it even more special:

2) Celebrations

The reason for staying at the hotel was to celebrate my parents' Golden Wedding Anniversary. There aren't too many folks that make this landmark so it was wonderful to spend time with family and old friends to party!

3) More butterflies

I think the butterflies are making up for a rubbish summer by grasping every opportunity to feed between showers. There were several Red Admirals on this bush:

4) Running Achievements

I went out today and did my 6th longest run ever at 11.59 km. It was my furthest since I did the Brathay Half in May 2016. Not only was it a long one but it was my fastest 10 km since October 2015 and 11 minutes quicker than when I last did the route in June. No wonder I looked so happy when I finished:

I look forward to reading what has made you happy this week!

  1. That hotel looks just the ticket. I love places like that. I hope you didn't drink the sherry before 6pm. :~P What is your Mum's name. The first letter is obscured on the cake and can't think of a girl's name that ends in ison.
