#CountryKids in Dublin and across the Irish Sea

Country Kids from Coombe Mill Family Farm Holidays Cornwall

On our last day in Ireland we had a couple of hours to spare before our ferry from Dublin so we headed into Dublin city centre. It is a pretty compact city centre so we had a chance to cover quite a but of ground (and get to plenty of Pokestops!). First of all we crossed over the River Liffey on Halfpenny Bridge:

The river runs through the heart of the city and is a central point for exploration:

With all that history and architecture the only thing my son was interested in was finding places to catch or battle Pokemon:

There are plenty of colourful buildings and cobbled streets in the old commercial quarter. We found a cafe near the Irish Rock N Roll Museum so he could battle whilst the adults had a coffee:

With limited time on our hands we weren't able to linger too long but headed off to find some of the more famous landmarks. There were plenty of places we could have shopped at or had a beer at if we had had the inclination:

Finally we came to the statue of Molly Malone the tart with a cart. My son did find it amusing that her wares looked well handled...

We then wandered past the parliament building which is under repair:

All roads seem to lead to the Liffey and we had a view back down to the Halfpenny Bridge:

All the historic landmarks are Pokestops so my son was whizzing down the main thoroughfare passed places such as the Post Office where the rebels from the Easter Rising of 1916 had their HQ:

The Spire of Dublin, officially titled An Túr Solais (Monument of Light), is over 121 metres in height and is an impressive structure:

Then we had to fight the traffic to get to the port in time to catch our fast ferry back to Holyhead. It was farewell to Ireland:

and hello Anglesey:

So many Irish adventures and I hope we will make it back one day! Here are all the things we did:

Kilkenny looks like a beautiful place to explore, who doesn't want to tick castles, breweries and pokestops off on a walk? I'm sure you'll be back to explore more of the beautiful city one day, I certainly would love to explore the sights and sounds. Those pizza's look perfect, certainly something to try if I ever make it over there.

Thanks for linking up with me on #CountryKids.
