#TeamHonk Kendal Blogger Relay for Sports Relief

Team Honk 2014 blogger Relay

I find it really exciting that the TeamHonk Relay has now started! They have passed through Cornwall and Somerset already. If you go and see the photos you will see how seriously crazily everyone is taking this. Seeing all the mad outfits made me realise that I need to make more of an effort so I've ordered us all some Sport's Relief All-in-Ones. Just hope I can manage to run in a onesie...

We will be wearing our matching outfits to receive the baton on Wednesday March 12th at Kendal Town Hall at around 4:30 from A Cupcake Mum and Family on a Bike who are bringing it from Morecambe. I will be taking it to visit a couple of local schools in Kendal.

Then on the Saturday morning the children and I will run down from Kendal Castle:

and then have a lift to Brough Castle for another mini run. After that its a trip to Barnard Castle for our 3rd run of the day! We will complete our leg of the relay hopefully at the Bowes Museum to hand over to Head in a Book. At this point we may well collapse in a heap before heading back home! If you want to come and join us then please message me or pop onto our special Facebook group.

To inspire us can you please sponsor us as part of the team effort to rise £20,000 for Sports Relief! We have an official text donate code! Text HONK to 70005 and donate £5 to Sport Relief If you are a brand or business who can help then please take a look at the TeamHonk site for information about what you can do for us.

The first ever Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Games take place from Friday 21st to Sunday 23rd March 2014. The public can join the fun and games by running, swimming or cycling their way to raising cash at over a thousand venues around the country, including the landmark events at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

As one of the biggest fundraising events, Sport Relief brings the entire nation together to get active raise cash and change lives. The money raised by the public is spent by Comic Relief to help transform the lives of some of the poorest and most disadvantaged people both at home in the UK and across the world.

#TeamHonk Kendal to Darlington leg

Team Honk 2014 blogger Relay

It's so exciting to be part of TeamHonk's Blogger relay for the Kendal to Darlington leg. A bit scarily right now I am the only grown up responsible for ensuring it completes its journey after its handed to me on the 12th March at the Town Hall! My children are ready and willing to help get it along the route:

whilst wearing fancy dress but I would love to have more help! We are going to stop at a couple of interesting places en route such as Brough Castle and Barnard Castle and hopefully do a little run as its supposed to be a Sport Relief event.

If you can provide us with transport or want to join in then please request to join the Facebook group or leave me a message on here. It will be much more fun with more of us taking part!

Reasons to be Cheerful: the #TeamHonk edition #R2BC

It's 2014 and now my turn to host Reasons to be Cheerful with an attempt at a new badge! So let's kick off 2014 with lots of reasons to be cheerful to put us in a great frame of mind for the year ahead...

I am part of the exciting blogger relay for Team Honk as part of Comic Relief. My children and I are responsible for receiving the baton from Morecambe and then getting it to Darlington! Eek. So far all we have decided is to travel in fancy dress on March 15th..

There are little little groups all over the UK who will be helping to move the baton. They need help and I am especially appealing for folks near Morecambe, Kendal and Darlington to make this work! The dates are March 12th to 16th for these connections.

It's such a worthwhile cause and I hope people will put there hands up and make it work. Definitely a perfect reason to be cheerful and one that will hopefully put smiles on 1000s of faces.

Please join in with your reasons to be cheerful and grab the funky new badge I created:

#TeamHonk Sport Relief Bloggers Relay

I signed up to help in the Team Honk Sport Relief Bloggers' Relay which is trying to get a baton from Land's End to John O' Groats to celebrate 25 years of Comic Relief. The catch is no petrol vehicles allowed... At the minute I am just about on my own to get the baton from Kendal to Darlington between the 13th and 15th of March which is 65 miles.

So I am looking for people to come and take part to work out how we can manage it. Not sure I can walk or run that far but could possible cycle in company on the Saturday...

If you can help in any way with getting that baton across the Pennines then please let me - I don't want to let Team Honk down...
