Reasons to be Cheerful: Festive Fun #R2BC

R2BC at Mummy from the Heart

We have reached that point of the Festive celebrations when you can't remember what day of the week it is! So can I blame that for not posting on the Thursday but waiting until the Friday? Any way it has allowed for an extra bit of festive fun to creep in. I hope that you have all had lots of happy moments to share with our other linkers? Next week hosting goes back to Michelle for January so thank you all for putting up with me in December. Meanwhile here are my festive reasons to be cheerful:

1) Festive parkrun

For the first time since 2014 we actually had our Fell Foot Christmas parkrun. Plenty of Santas, elves, reindeer and other Christmas characters running or walking round the 5 km. I have already posted a link to a video of the event.

2) Christmas part one

We had an early Christmas meal with my parents to kick start the celebrations. It was lovely to have a properly laid out table with candles and decorations:

After dinner we then played board games and had a chilled out evening.

3) The Last Jedi
We finally got around to seeing The Last Jedi. It was the first time my dad had seen one of the series in the cinema since the original trilogy. Despite being told a big spoiler and having to sit on the front row we all thoroughly enjoyed it. My son says its his favourite of the series:

4) Family Christmas

My son and I had Christmas with other members of the family and were spoilt rotten. My parents got me an action camera which will help with our fell running films:

On Boxing Day we went up to Keswick to see an impressive production of The Secret Garden at the Theatre by the Lake and had a bonus of Skiddaw with snow on top as we came out:

5) Girls' Night Out

My daughter and I persuaded my mum to go for Cocktails and Mocktails at Slate. We supped our delicious drinks whilst playing Trivial Pursuit:

6) Shrinking!

I now have to make sure I keep plenty of volume in my hair as my 14 year old has just gone past me height wise. Its only the mousse that let me look taller in this photo:

I look forward to reading and sharing your posts if you add to the linky. Don't forget to share the love and pop onto to each other's posts too.

  1. Sounds like a great Christmas. I think I would love to be in your family with all the board games going on. I'm a big games person (and not computer games). Have a good weekend and I'll see you next year. xxx
