One of my single parent friends is also in the area for a break and we met up for coffee and cake at Yard 46.
2) Time with my girl
We had a delightful day trip to Lancaster to spend birthday money and try out a vegetarian restaurant:
Such a pleasure to spend a laid back day with her. Then last night we were at the Brewery as a puppetry project she worked on had a showing for the parents. She had done an amazing job!
3) Time with my boy
Saturday was all about running together with parkrun in the morning and a Fright Run in the evening (Thanks to James Kirkby for the photo):
5) Time with my mum
We made the most of an opportunity this week to go out for lunch and tried out the 2 Sisters' Cafe in Kendal:
6) Halloween fun
Our little street was buzzing for Halloween with lots of very polite ghosts, ghouls and witches. I got quite a few compliments for the pumpkin I carved using a template I found online too:
It's been gorgeous weather all in all here the last week too! Looks like you had a good one. :) Our half term finished and we were back to school this week which has been a bit of a relief! :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a great family day out. I am very impressed with the entrance fee. I am scared of birds so don't think I would've been brave enough to go in the aviary! The haunted house was a nice addition for halloween #countrykids
ReplyDeletedon't think my son will willing go back in the Amazon one!
ReplyDeletePark runs always look like so much fun, our local one is a Saturday which is changeover so I've never managed to take part myself. It's fab to see all the people taking part made the effort to dress up a little, even if some had to abandon their costumes half way around the course. You and your son both look fab in your costumes, the Fright Run sounds like a fab way to spend the evening.
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up with me on #CountryKids.
South Lakes Safari Zoo looks like a great way to spend the afternoon, a fab birthday present for your son. I love the large selection of animals there, the Macaws are so colourful, it's amazing how close you can get to them. Your son appears to have had a fantastic time, I can see why your parents bought him tickets to go!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing with me on #CountryKids.
You went on a beautiful clear day! Love your photos and it certain shows South Lakes Safari Zoo at its best! Popping over from #CountryKids x
ReplyDeleteWow some fab outfits although I'm not sure how they ran in them #countrykids
ReplyDeleteAren't you a clever girl with the pumpkin? It looks like lots of fun has been had and all that food has made my mouth water. Mich x
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a lot of fun, great to see so many getting into the spirit and wearing costumes :) Although I have to admit, we do a Halloween 5k each year and I have yet to try running it in costume myself! #countrykids
ReplyDeleteI don't run but this sounds great for those that do. Great costumes. #countrykids
ReplyDeleteWe were in the area not long back. I have to say I was put off going by the previous issues. Looks like you had a good time thoigh #countrykids
ReplyDeleteI've never done a Parkrun but it looks like fun and I love all the Halloween costumes. I can imagine that masks are not ideal for running in. Love the photo of the two people in the boat :-) #countrykids
