Reasons to be Cheerful XIV (#R2BC)

Reasons to be Cheerful at Mummy from the Heart

Here we go on my Reasons to be Cheerful this week:

1) Race for Life

It may have been cool and damp but along with 800 plus people my daughter and I did it! For the full details read here. It is an amazing event to take part in and not just because its raising money for a great cause.

@Vickyhun and myself at the finish
2) London 2012

I'm one of the lucky ones who got an event in the Olympics 2012 draw. This may be the only chance my children and I ever get to go to an Olympics so it was a relief that we managed to get tickets for one event at the cheapest rates. It turned out today that it's for an early athletics round actually in the stadium and at least one friend is going to be at the same even with her grandchildren. Being the cheap seats I guess we'll be right at the top of the stadium but it should be an awesome experience even if we need binoculars to see the action! The thought of being on my won with an 8 and 5 year old in an 80,000 seater stadium is quite scary but I'm sure I'll be fine on the day... Only 14 months to wait now until the actual event  - just need to blag some beds down south to make it a lovely weekend away...

3) Secret Post Club

It's been a another lovely secret post club month. Getting a mystery parcel delivered is such a thrill. This month I was sent something from Heather at Notes From Lapland:

A lovely mug which arrived beautifully gift wrapped from the Literary Gift Company, you can tell Heather did her research to choose the right present for me! It was also great to hear from Michelle that she loved the crafty bits and pieces I sent her. Roll on next month's exchange!

Secret Post Club: May 2011

Its been a while since this has run but it was a pleasure to both send and receive a mystery parcel this month as part of the secret post club which is run by the lovely Heather. This month I received goodies from a lady I'd never come across on Twitter before Erin aka @silentbeauty. She sent me the perfect package:

Coffee beans, chocolate and some pampering face packs! Needless to say the chocolate didn't last long ;-) I am looking forward to some time to enjoy the lovely coffee and a relaxing face pack. You can go see what other people got over at Heather's place.

Secret Post Club: October 2010

I missed last month's Secret Post Club with the complications of moving house so was delighted to join in again this time. Today I received a mystery padded envelope with the following contents:

A lovely girly notepad and pen, a beautiful bookmark and a postcard of Livvy from Sara at Walking With Angels. We are both regular readers and commenters on each others blogs so she has chosen ideal things for me.

Another happy Secret Post Club recipient :-)

Secret Post Club: April 2010

It's that wonderful time of the month when the Secret Post Club Parcels start arriving across the world!

This time mine has come from the lovely Clair at Kids Craft and Chaos:

Thanks to her checking out my other book club blog she knew I loved books and so has sent me two books that she enjoyed reading herself. Plus a yummy little packet of chocs to enjoy whilst reading them and and a Wee Free Men badge to wear too.

As I have 1) boxed up most of my books in preparation for moving and 2) borrowed a selection of Discworld novels from my dad this was a very thoughtful gift. The chocolates are vanishing rapidly and I look forward to snuggle up in bed with a great bit of chick lit..

Secret Post Club

This month I signed up for Heather from Notes from Lapland's brilliant Secret Post Club.

The idea being to share a little love with a fellow random blogger by popping them a parcel in the post. This makes for a nice surprise arriving at your door...

Mine turned out to be from Amanda at Flying Start Magazine she had checked out my profile and saw that I like puzzles so I now have a challenge of solving this:

come back later and see if I can:

  1. work out how to take it apart
  2. can put it back together

Apparently the instructions are hidden in the box so I need to keep them somewhere safe.... but not look!

Thanks Amanda should keep me out of mischief for hours :-)
