#CountryKids Tree Climbing in the Park

Country Kids from Coombe Mill Family Farm Holidays Cornwall

We are so lucky in Kendal with our green spaces. One I often forget about is Noble's Rest as its not full of play equipment but its an open park with trees in. Today we had 45 minute to spare before welcoming the new vicar to church which gave us a chance to use the park. My daughter wasted no time in heading straight up the nearest tree:

I briefly had time to admire the formal features of the park before being allowed to sit on a bench with my latest library book:

#CountryKids in Abbott Hall Park, Kendal

Country Kids from Coombe Mill Family Farm Holidays Cornwall

One of the great things about being part of this linky is that it makes you go out even if the weather isn't marvellous! Last weekend I managed to squeeze in a trip to the park after going shopping and before we went to the cinema. Luckily Abbott Hall park in Kendal is close to the cinema so we had time to nip in:

Funnily on a cold and damp day there wasn't anyone else about:

One of their favourite bits is the zip wire and they didn't have to wait their turn except for each other:

Away she goes
She just had to be careful coming back to avoid the mud:

Of course little brother wanted to go too:

As you can see the park was just about deserted and we only saw 2 other children the whole time we were in there:

Partly this was due to the temperature as it felt a lot colder than on previous days:

Mummy I am cold!

It was a relief when we had to leave to go and watch Frozen as we hadn't really dressed properly for our trip! Glad we got out and about though.

#CountryKids Sunny evening in the park

Country Kids from Coombe Mill Family Farm Holidays Cornwall

The weather has been so awful I thought I wasn't going to get to join in this week! Luckily today was glorious so we headed off for a pre Beavers tea in the park at Staveley:

It was nice to be able to be outside just in short sleeves and enjoying ice cream:

As it was tea time we had the park to ourselves for over half and hour which was bliss! No need to take turns on the equipment:

The fact my son had his shorts on today shows what a nice day we had. I'm even feeling sun burned so need to start remembering the sun cream!

The beavers had their meeting out on the grass so my daughter and I retreated to the neighbouring pub which has a beer garden overlooking the playground and the river. A lovely spot to eat our dinner whilst watching swallows hunt for theirs:

Hope we get some more glorious evenings like this one!
