Reasons to be Cheerful: Summer Holidays are here #R2BC

Ojo's World

Thanks again to Ojo's World for hosting this month. Go and see what is making her smile! Here are my reasons:

1) Leaving primary school

My daughter had her year 6 leavers' service on Friday. A packed church for an emotional goodbye, the end of 5 years at her school and moving on to secondary. There were plenty of laughs too and in the evening nearly all the families met up for a party in the village recreation ground:

2) Running

I hadn't run for a month so it was such a fabulous feeling to get out on Monday. I went off way too fast I was so excited! It was only 4 km but it put a smile on my face:

Then on Wednesday my son acted as my fell running coach and wore me out on the Helm:

3) Lazy mornings

We don't often need to listen to an alarm clock from now until September 4th so plenty of chances to lie in bed and enjoy watching this sleeping beauty:

4) Seeing friends

School holidays also means a chance to catch up with old friends. Old neighbours came around on Tuesday and today friends from East Sussex popped over from Newcastle. We dragged them up to Kendal Castle on what turned out to be a sunny day:

Why are you smiling this week?

What a great opportunity for the kids to have, sometimes it takes fun activities like this to rekindle their enjoyment of bike riding. That penny-farthing's fab, your daughter looks quite confident on it as well, I'm impressed. That recumbent bike must've been really comfortable too, I don't blame your son for enjoying it. Thanks for linking up with me on Country Kids.

  5. I bet it felt heavenly to get out running again! That view, from the castle looks amazing, I know I'm always saying it, but you do live in a beautiful area. My youngest left infants, I'm a little bit heartbroken if I'm honest, glad they had a good leaving do xx
