Reasons to be cheerful: Running away... #R2BC

R2BC at Mummy from the Heart

A slightly later than scheduled reasons to be cheerful this week as I had a much needed lie in! Last week's happy linkers included reasons such as job and couch to 5k, I wonder what this week will include? Any how here are my reasons to be cheerful this week:

1) Proud mum

My son is doing really well in his running at the moment. He was 11th at the first BOFRA fell race last Saturday and then 2nd in a fun run at Brathay marathon on Sunday:

2) Flying Feet

On Sunday I took part in the inaugural Brathay 5k. It was a tough route with plenty of hills. I saved myself a bit for a glory run sprint finish. Made for an awesome official photo:

3) Girls' Night

My daughter and I joined the Aspergers' group at the pub again. It's a lovely social evening. Beforehand we had mucked about with snapchat to do those gender swap pics. This is me as a man and a woman:

4) Blooming lovely

My roses are coming out already. These were a housewarming present nearly 4 years ago and they bring pleasure every summer:

5) Speeding Up

I went out today to prove I can run 10 km before my next trail race at Grasmere on Saturday. Didn't think I'd pushed myself but ran my fastest 10 km since September 2017. Just need to keep it up during the actual race...

Join In and Share the Happiness!

I love to read your Reasons to be Cheerful and it is easy to join in with no complicated rules -

1. Link up a post about something that is making you super happy/ grateful. It can be in this style or it can be anything you like

2. Add the #R2BC badge onto your post or blog so that people can easily find the linky and join in too if they fancy

3.  Share the love. This is the really important bit. Please don't just link and run, comment on at least a couple of posts and why not share with #R2BC too?

I'll stop by all linked up posts to comment and I'll share on twitter too

  1. Your son has definitely picked up your love of running, well done to both of you! I'm hoping I get the bug, more and more, something I never thought I'd say! x

  2. Absolutely love that pic from the Brathay 5k, and good news about your son and daughter too xx

  3. Wow you make a handsome man and a beautiful woman. Imo you should definitely choose to be man or a woman. Sorry I missed the linky again this week. I'm hoping to be more on top of things by net week.

I love it when people leave a message
