Westmorland County Show 2019

I was lucky to be able to go to school today as a member of staff on a school trip. So lucky to get to go on a school day, but of course not able to enjoy it as much being responsible for children! It took us nearly an hour to get there in a coach due to the usual show congestion so once we got there we were raring to go...

First up we went in the Country Pursuits tent. My colleague beat a strategic retreat leaving me to be volunteered to hold this rather gorgeous owl:

The boys then voted to see the sheep so we headed through the mud to the sheep pens. An amazing variety of sheep breeds and good to get up close to some of them:

Then we wandered past the cattle tent before stopping to watch the carriage driving:

Reasons to be Cheerful: Sherlock, Girl Time and Mud! #R2BC

R2BC at Mummy from the Heart

As the worst host ever of the linky I am back and still grovelling over lack of commenting! Really need to get a work/life balance... Here are some of my reasons to be cheerful this week:

1) Sherlock

This little dynamo is continuing to grow and show his personality. Hopefully puppy training will start to reap benefits soon!

2) Girl Time

The child I support in school had 2 days off last week which gave me a chance to enjoy a lunch out with my girl. We had fun at Pedro's Casa:

3) Mud, mud, glorious mud

You may have already seen my huge grin from the Cartmel 10km run. Who knew that running in rain, mud and water could be a reason to be cheerful?

Reasons to be Cheerful: Mud and Sunshine #R2BC

R2BC at Mummy from the Heart

How did it get to Thursday already? I'm joining in a bit late with Michelle as life is whizzing by. Here are some of my reasons to be cheerful this week:

1) Petition Started

At the second attempt I've managed to get a petition started to amend the Mental Health Act. At the moment the current one makes no allowances for people with autism so they can be denied treatment. Please sign the petition to help rectify this wrong.

2) Running

Yes running - I actually ran not just once but twice including a mood lifting 6 km out on the old canal:

I do now hope I will be OK for my 10 km race in 2 weeks, although I've now caught another cold....

3) Muddy Fun

The sun shone for the Sedbergh fell race which meant for those landing in the water jump it was more funny than horrendous! It certainly made the spectators smile:

Plenty more muddy moments on my video:

4) Spring Sunshine

Like most of the country I have been loving the unseasonal mini "heatwave". Walking to and from work has been heavenly:
