Well its the start of a new month and nearly a new school year so its time I assessed where I have got to in 2017 and what my goals are for this month. This was my progress photo on Saturday and I do look so much better:
The scales are not my friend as I have actually gained a pound this week for a change so far of - 1 stone and 1.5 lbs! So I decided to get the magic tape measure out for the first time since May and see my progress in inches as well as in a photograph:
- Bust -3 inches
- Waist -4 inches
- Hips -2 inches
- Widest part of hips (over tummy!) -3 inches
- Left bicep no change
- Right bicep -1.5 inches (can you tell I am right handed!)
- Left knee -2.5 inches
- Right knee -1.5 inches
- Left thigh -2 inches
- Right thigh -1 inch
A total of 20.5 inches so no wonder I look like I have lost a lot more weight. So let's look at what went right and wrong this week...
1) Diet
Its been an eating out or entertaining friends week so the calorie count has gone up... Meals like the 10 oz burger I ate aren't exactly going to help me with my calorie intake (although I didn't need tea that night!). I have been given some vegetables from my aunt's garden so I will be making a conscious effort to do better this week... There were some good meals like my prawn salad lunch:
2) Exercise
I have been chipping away at my running deficit and I am now only 112 km behind, I now need just under 3.6 km a day of running to make my target:
I am still trying to mix up my runs a bit (check out the links to the right) and even braved one of the tougher routes through town:
My step count has been really good apart from Sunday when I was working sitting down all day! Lots of walking with friends and for Pokemon Go plus the running is keeping it up. (Just ignore the other red from Saturday as I hadn't realised my iPhone had stopped tracking when it updated so parkrun was missed off.):
3) September Goals
Whilst I am obviously pleased that most things are on track, except diet, I need to focus on something for September. As it conveniently has 30 days I have joined a Run Mummy Run abs challenge with 3 different parts to it:
I did day one at 6 am as I couldn't sleep and took my before photos. I have been looking OK straight on the bit of me needing most work is my abdomen. So lets see what I look like by the end of the month:
You are inspiring. Keep up the good work. xxx
ReplyDeleteThis is brilliant to see your progress, hope the September challenge works out well and can I ask about your running belt please? And if you like it (I need a new one...)
ReplyDeletefleetfoot II workplay - designed for the female form! I like it but now my phone too big for pocket but slides into mesh behind..
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you had a real good time, I'm not so sure about the virtual vikings, it sounds pretty gruesome.

I love that lake, it's such a beautiful area. It looks like you had great day out, I hope your friend enjoyed it too.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful area and it must have felt very peaceful out on the lake. Those red sails certainly added colour to your photos and I laughed at the purposeful capsizing. Lunch looked scrummy and the walk to follow a perfect way to let it all digest. All in a great looking day.

My kids would have adored that virtual viking experience, dead bodies and all! In fact follow it with that amazing water park and I think it would be their perfect day. Personally fairground style rides and racing down water slides makes me feel quite ill, I'll stick to soaking up your lovely coastal photos. The coastline and beaches do look stunning there even with the wind.

Oh wow what a fantastic part of the UK to explore with kids, my son would of loved to have been stranded on an island. We have managed to get on the water a few times this summer and it's so much fun. Just popping over from #CountryKids

ReplyDeleteOh those churros look delicious!
ReplyDeleteLove the virtual vikings!
