Reasons to be Cheerful: Galloping into June #R2BC

R2BC at Mummy from the Heart

It may be grey and damp outside but that doesn't mean I have no reasons to be cheerful! Joining in with Michelle to share the happiness:

1) Grasmere Gallop

I have been taking part at the Gallop since 2013 and my son since 2014 (we missed it last year!). This year he knocked over 2 minutes off his time from 2017 to finish 3rd under 16 boy and 8th overall in the 5.7 km race. It was my 2nd attempt at the 10 km race and I was a couple of minutes slower than in 2017 but it still felt like a great run:

2) Peace & Quiet

My son went off for two nights on a residential. This not only meant the house was really quiet (too quiet!) but I had time to enjoy a rare sunny evening and have a girlie dinner with my mum and my daughter.

3) Blooming lovely

We might not like the damper weather this year but it has meant that my garden is starting to burst into flower earlier than during last year's heatwave. Plenty of the wildflowers have self seeded and some of my bulbs seem to have survived too:

4) Proud Mum

It was good to have reasons to be proud of both my children this week. My daughter is doing so well at bridge that she has moved to the level above my mum! I really ought to learn how to play too...

As for my son he is the first in his fell running club to claim for full colours this year. This means he has represented his club 24 times in 2019!

Join In and Share the Happiness!

I love to read your Reasons to be Cheerful and it is easy to join in with no complicated rules -

1. Link up a post about something that is making you super happy/ grateful. It can be in this style or it can be anything you like

2. Add the #R2BC badge onto your post or blog so that people can easily find the linky and join in too if they fancy

3.  Share the love. This is the really important bit. Please don't just link and run, comment on at least a couple of posts and why not share with #R2BC too?

  2. On a slightly different point, your son is leaving you behind! He's grown up so much. Well done both of you, on doing the gallop! x

  8. it's like Rummy bit you have 13 cards and you need to have 40 points in the first sets you lay down. At the end f each round you count the points left in your hand. Matches are up to 150 points - when you get to 150 you're out.
